Warzone 2.0 How Ranked works in WZ2

I'm new to cod. Got started on DMZ but this weekend I have found ranked to be pretty fun. However I may not be understanding the ranked star system. I'm at 6 right now and it seems that every rank requires an additional star to progress. So rank 7 will take 7 stars 8 will take 8 and so on. Seems like it would be impossible to hit 50 and have any sort of job or life like that and I see a lot of people running around with ranked skins. Am I missing something?

The ranking system works almost like Prestige Mode. As I remember it, you rank up by winning matches. You reach, let's say level 20, you go to the next SR rank. If you lose a match, you get knocked backwards, which is part of the reason why you feel like you're not progressing.

The rank and SR system are two different things. SR is the points you make in game and lose if you make less points than it costs to play. The RANK system is stars you earn by placement. I'm only asking if the amount of stars increases in every single rank. So far it seems like you would need like 1200+ stars to rank 50. That's the equivalent to ranking first place for 400 matchs. I don't think warzone has even been out long enough for this many people to have the ranked hoodie
