Warzone Hard to stay ADSing while dropshotting

MuffinV

Recruit
If I press any movement key while dropshotting it takes me out of the ADS and leave me hipfiring in the floor. The only work around is to take my hands from the movement keys which is very hard to do in the heat of the engagement.
Since Im new in the CoD comunity, I dont know if what is happening is working as intended or if I messed up my key bindings.
Anyone knows what am I doing wrong?

What do you mean by dropshot? Is that jumping off a wall with ads or dropping to prone?

Mainly dropping to prone but some people jump to prone of a wall too. Btw I’ve answered just in case you didn’t know what drop shorting was, not sure if you were asking MuffinV which one? :)

Thanks, I'm happy to get an answer, and that explains it well for me.

I can see dropping to prone might offer some benefits but there are drawbacks too.

A benefit is you present a smaller target and can be harder to see.

A drawback is that you can't maintain ADS whilst dropping to prone.

Another drawback is you have reduced mobility.

I can't see how it works always be the best strategy to do this.

Reduced mobility isn't a drawback - your enemy is dead and there's no longer a threat. The advantages are you drop to the ground out of visible sight from the guy who is ADSing you (CQC) or to make yourself a smaller target (more mid-range). The fact that you can't maintain ADS while going prone is countered by the fact that you can go prone/ADS faster than your opponent can track you/re-ADS after you go prone. So you have gained an advantage by doing this - it works more often than not otherwise people wouldn't be doing it.

Consider the following real-life scenario. Two enemies come around a corner in CQC and run into each other. One guy starts spraying his AK at the other, while the other guy...tries to lay down? He's dead within an instant. That's because, in real-life, it is WAY easier for the guy firing first to simply move his aim to the guy as he tries to lay down. In real-life it takes much longer to physically go prone and then fire back at someone instead of just...firing at them in the first place.

Now obviously games aren't real-life, but some games do cater more to realism than others. CoD is WAYYYYYY on the arcady style of the spectrum when it comes to realism. I will never understand how the game can try to have all these realistic gun and bullet physics only to allow players to shoot accurately while sliding or jumping around a corner or after cutting their chute in the sky. But that's CoD for you.

I wish it didn't work so well, just like Halo-jumping corners. But those tactics work because of how the game is programmed. They will never ever be nerfed because this is how CoD has been for a decade. You simply need to learn to prepare for them in every combat situation because about half the guys you encounter will do both of these.
