Snipers just give your position away. That's just me, I don't use them.
Only if you use a >4x scope that has scope glint - otherwise they don't give you away anymore than any other gun.
Hi guys just wondering if this is a good choice? I'm looking for something that reloads fairly quick and doesn't need to be super long range shooting it
Depends on what you're doing. Are you new to the game and just trying to use a blueprint because you have nothing unlocked? If that's the case and you got the Cult Classic in the Battle Pass last season, I'd rather use the Fracas instead. The Fracas is an HDR Blueprint from last season and it has the same 3.5x optic, Tac Laser, and Focus perk as the Cult Classic. The benefit of the Fracas is, it has a suppressor, PLUS it has better bullet velocity. Neither has "good" bullet velocity because they both have stock barrels instead of the long barrels. The HDR has better velocity with the stock barrel so it would be easier to use. AND, since the Fracas is a Legendary it gets a 5th attachment - a bipod which lowers recoil making it easier to recenter your reticle after each shot because the gun kicks less. The only positive with the Cult Classic, instead of a suppressor it has a Stippled Grip, meaning quicker Aim-Down-Sight (ADS) time. So you can scope in marginally quicker with it making it a better counter-sniper.
Pros:
Fracas: Suppressor, better bullet velocity, less recoil, easier to use
Cult Classic: Better ADS
Now if you're asking about snipers in general. The HDR is still a good choice especially for newer snipers. If you level it up enough to get the 26.9 HDR Pro barrel plus the Mono Suppressor, it will have the highest bullet velocity in the game meaning it is the easiest to use because it has the least bullet drop. If you aren't very confident in your ability to gauge distances and aim above targets to compensate for drop, the HDR is your go-to sniper. My ideal loadout would be:
Muzzle: Mono Suppressor
Barrel: 26.9 HDR Pro
Laser: Tac Laser
Optic: 3.5x Cronen
Stock: FTAC Hunter
The first 2 should be mortal locks for Warzone - they give the best range/bullet velocity and the suppressor is obvious. The Tac Laser is the best choice to lower your ADS times on what is a VERY heavy/slow sniper. Those 3 attachments are pretty much mortal locks - some people think the Tac Laser gives away your position too much, but at the ranges you're sniping it is barely visible (if at all) and the ADS/Stability benefits are too good to pass up.
The last 2 attachments are up to you. I prefer a scope with <4x magnification to remove scope glint so I don't have that huge white bullseye on my face anytime I scope in. I realize that is personal preference and some people like the longer sniper scopes and that's fine - they slow down your ADS and you also have to be cognizant of how the scope glint can give away your position.
The last attachment has some variability to it. I personally like the FTAC Hunter stock to add some extra stability which helps get those headshots, but that could easily be traded out for a larger mag or a Perk. I don't personally like the larger mag because they just slow down your ADS even more on what is already the slowest sniper, but that is personal choice if you just really want more than 5 rounds. You could also use Sleight of Hand to speed up reloads instead of using a bigger mag. Focus is also a possible choice to reduce flinch or Presence of Mind to extend the hold breath feature.
Now if you're open to more options for snipers, I prefer both the SP-R and Kar over the HDR but they're more difficult to use. The SP-R is arguably the most balanced rifle in the game - it has bullet velocity almost as good as the HDR and ADS times almost as good as the Kar. So if you want a quicker scoping sniper that still has great bullety velocity and is easy to use, the SP-R is your choice. Just put the Mono/SPR26 barrel on there with the Norma rounds - I'd still suggest the Tac Laser and a 3.5x optic but those last 2 attachments can be up to you like with the HDR.
The Kar is also an option, but beware it is more difficult to use since it has slower bullet velocity and therefore more bullet drop. However it does have the quickest ADS times making it the best counter-sniper. If you are going head-to-head with another sniper, the guy using the quicker ADS rifle is going to win if both guys are equally accurate with their shots. That's the key though - if you aren't as accurate with the Kar because of it's bullet drop, then the faster ADS doesn't really help you since you're missing more shots anyway.
And lastly, my favorite....the Dragoon. The Dragoon is a barrel for the SP-R with an integrated suppressor. It doesn't add any extra range or bullet velocity (~10%, but that's basically just the integrated Mono Suppressor), so it is even harder to use than the Kar because it has the most bullet drop. However, the integrated suppressor barrel, like ALL integrated suppressor barrels, remove all tracers from your shots. So, the enemy literally can't see where you're firing from. If you couple that with a 3.5x optic, you are basically completely invisible. The Dragoon also doesn't hurt your ADS like a longer barrel, so you can compete with Kar users in terms of ADS when counter-sniping. My recommendation is, if you can handle the bullet drop of the Kar and you're confident in your ability to hit shots at 200-250m with it, then the Dragoon should be a no-brainer. No scope glint, no tracers, max bullet drop, max difficulty, but it is SO much harder for enemies to find you without the normal tells (a scope glint, or a bullet tracer whizzing by).
