I'm trying to finish Boring Operation mission in the DMZ, but no matter how many times I try I can not get a kill on the AI shield bots with the Drill Charge. I aim for the shield but it seems to lock on to the gun hand and never kills them. Is it a bug or am I doing it wrong?

any other time yes, but the mission needs you to drill charge kill them.
