Is AW like Titanfall?

Honestly, is this game the same old stuff with a new paint job and an exo-suit addition? Or does it feel like a new game?

There has been a fair few comments about how this looks like Titan Fall V2 where there are a lot of similarities at least from what I could see at the footage shown. Is this something like Titanfall?

They're both FPS' with futuristic themes. You can make a bunch of other comparisons (especially considering Titanfall just announced a 4-player co-op survival mode just under 2 hours ago)... but it ends there.

It's like having different types of apples. They're different in their own right and delicious in their own right...but it different ways.

I really don't think Titanfall and AW can compare. Titalfall focuses more on the robots and sci-fi stuff, on the other hand, AW focuses more of futuristic weapons and tries to imagine how will war be in a few decades. Both have futuristic themes but that's really it.

More like a defense mode. :)

I see. In MOBA games, it's like saying it is DOTA 2 or League of Legends, am I correct? They are good on their own right.

I can see how they are quite similar, but there are more differences than similarities in the long run. I agree with MadiesLan that they are the same yet different also.

Actually, I have no idea as of now because I haven't purchased AW yet. But judging by your comments it would surely be fun after all. Have you tried playing these games?

I would say Advanced Warfare is a much more improved version of Titanfall, I guess you could call the Goliath similar to a Titan in some ways. Titanfall is more of a bare bones Call of Duty with Mechs, very few guns, no scorestreaks and not many players on each time. Advanced Warfare on the other hand is far more fleshed out with a lot more guns, scorestreaks, and a much bigger variety of game modes. In my opinion AW is going to be a far better game.

I am starting to think if Titanfall gets better modifications, then it would fare better than AW. By the way, Titanfall has great game plays and are technically more elusive than some other futuristic video games. Perhaps sooner or later, there would a mechanically more advanced version of TF.

No, not at all. Sure, it borrows some game mechanics from other shooters, but those same shooters have been borrowing CoD's mechanics since MW1 was released nearly seven years ago.

Are you saying that TF ripped off ideas from CoD: Age of Warfare? I believe that although CoD was in development earlier than TF's release, I believe that it was just pure speculation. For instance, it seems like the people who made Titanfall knew it would have high double jumping and wall running long before it was in development.

I don't think either ripped off of anyone - the idea of double jumping and parkour has been in almost every post-modern shooter that's fast paced, just look at GunZ for example and that's an old ass game by comparison.

Because Titanfall was released prior to CoD, there have been speculations. They might be factual but in the long run, who cares? Every company climbs ladders their own strategies. The best part is whether the upgrades are better or worse.

I don't think TF ripped off anyone. Sure it compares with double jumping and parkour but that's it. I think the industry has just simply figured out that this style of game is what people are into these days and are shaping their games to fit that standard. I'm sure in a couple years underwater fighting will become popular and most games will share some kind of mechanic related to it.

Again - just because a game is based in the future and has parkour, which includes wallrunning and double jumping, doesn't mean it had to copy a game in order to get it done. What about Brink, or my previous example, Gunz?

Doubtful outside of things that might as well be considered genre standards. While there is a veneer of futuristic whatever over everything - TF is about mechas and might as well be an indie whatever, AW is about people shooting everything including mechas with all the backing of a AAA. Also I can honestly say that while the concept sounds great TF just doesn't have the substance behind it.

I am almost laughing at you for saying it is like Titanfall V2 xD. The new Advanced Warfare is a whole new game and is nothing like Titanfall. When playing Titanfall i got board after about 1 minute because it was so repetitive and so boring. I think that Advanced Warfare brings a whole new life to the COD franchise as a whole and is going to revive it with the fans and soon to be fans. This is just my opinion and you can disagree if you want.
