DMZ Is it me or is Vondel just impossible to solo unless you spawn just right

I swear I cannot move more than 2 sections in map without getting swarmed by AI

I clear out my area that I am in move fwd clear out the next bit of the next section. Get so far as the edge of the area I need to get to and BOOM I am overrun by like 15 to 20 AI some if not all now sporting T2 armor at least.

I did a rinse and repeat like 10 times last night.

I exfilled 2 times cause I got lucky and the exfil was close by. but yeah I died at exfil one time cause the area was swarmed with AI.. not to mention for bots that wear a ton of armor they do not drop it even when I am headshoting probably 60% of them.

It's not just you.. I spent all morning trying to complete a VONDEL mission.. I was able to avoid AI (hug the edges of the map) but I kept getting jumped by asshole operators..

I got jumped 3 times, 2 times they picked me up the 1 time they did not . It was a duo that I came upon one of them was down and scooting I approached him thinking he was a solo and started spamming friendly friendly take my invite and I will get you up and moving. Nope as I am walking along next to him his partner comes up and kills me.. then they looted me and left me with nothing .. talk about assholes. I was trying to help them..

I been burned too much, from now on I see you and I got a good shot if I think you are solo or duo kill 1st talk later... If I think its 3 or more I will be as quiet as a mouse as I can be and allow a team like that to go by as best I can without getting myself killed.

My policy is, I will call out FRIENDLY FRIENDLY on initial contact with a bogie...

If I don't receive a response then said bogie becomes a bandit and is neutralized..

It's dripping with irony that, if I successfully kill the bandit THEN they respond with a "BUT YOU SAID YOU WERE FRIENDLY!!!"

I did that yesterday in Al Maz yesterday loaded in I m next to Hafrid Only closest mission I see for the mission I am running is in the middle of the place.. crap I will be running at the team there.

I start my way shooting when I need looting stuff as I can. get to the warehouse with the sub I see prox chat so I hugged a wall and see they are drilling a safe. I called out friendly friendly I am solo I am just here to grab a mission in the building next door if you want to add me... Boom I see an add so I took it and carried on my way. once I was done I helped them complete their missions and we exfilled together

was a nice run.. See thats the way I wish I could be. In Al Maz maybe... Vondel Nope its shoot 1st there..

man as soon as an ai sees you there all coming it is a battle. 3 of us went in today and joined another 3 group and it was still hell and i think we all had to revive each other atleast once and were lucky to get out. but i think it is definatly fun and challenging.

The more I play VONDEL the more I like it.. Best strategy I can recommend is to hug the borders of the map as much as you can.. This way at least ONE of your flanks is covered...

I also noted rooftop and stair way camping helps a ton.

Grabbing cover with your back not exposed is a massive key. I do find that the bastards when I am on the ground no matter that I cleared everything behind me they did get behind me somehow.


Went in a handful of times with a three man team and one of the guys was very knowledgeable. 2 of us would get stuck battling bots and needing revives once in a while clearing out areas but he zipped right thru grabbed the items needed and slid back to us killing on his way back.

I always seem to be able to do that for half a section and then I run into a HVT team and end up with 10 or so t3 plus a mini boss all on my arse. UGH But last night was really fun none of us died to any team or perma died to any bots. So we all came out "the better" and got a TON of mission stuff moving. It was the best night I have had in months.
