Not doing well

So, I've been playing CoD since it came out and have become a fairly good player, I was frequently winning games in Vanguard and doing well. In MW2 however, in FFA and TeamDeathmatch games, I consistently coming last and I don't understand why this is happening. I have a fast broadband connection and usually get into games that have a ping of about 40-90 ping. However, when I see the killcam replay when I get killed, I look like I'm just aiming wrong and not at the player, even though from my point of view I was aiming directly at them. Does anyone know why this is happening with this game, when I've not encountered this before!?

Could you answer a few questions that may help us help you?

  • What platform> Console or PC?

  • System specs if PC?

  • Have you run the Benchmark option in the game?

Sounds to me like your settings need to be adjusted or it could be your hardware in general.

Hi,

thanks for getting back to me. I'm on pc and it's a fairly top-end machined - i9 processor, 3090 graphics card, 32GB Ram. I've not tried running the benchmark option in the game - what menu is that in?

latency is 40 -90?

I find if I get near 100 on my xbox I am always behind in the kill cam. I will have pulled up and gotten 5 or 6 hitmarkers on the other player and they kill me. On the kill cam I got 1 maybe two and they hit me 7 or 8 times.

If my latency is down 30-60 I feel the game feels more "fair"

So I now run the latency monitor and if its hitting 90 plus I start to camp more and I will eventually do better.

But yeah higher latency I am down near the bottom less kills lucky if I break even usually 8 to 12 kills

lower latency I depending on the map and my layout can run as high as a 7 or 8 even saw 10 once for KD ratio last night I had a 21-3 game sniping /shrug I personally know I wont ever be a 30 plus kill amount.

I do my best to keep my K/D above one otherwise I am not pulling my weight for the team.

Launch into the game and go to Multiplayer scroll to the far right and there you go!

Oh, can I ask what region you are in TJWCodPlayer? Your specs are very close to mine so it sounds like settings to me but lets just take the steps to hopefully get this right for you.

You have everything updated? Windows, bios, drivers etc? What power supply ?

Hi, thanks for the response. I'm in the UK. Yes, everything updated & I don't know exactly what power supply, but I think it's about 1000 watts, so pretty good. Maybe it's just the broken matchmaking system they have in this game!

Ran the benchmark test - is the attached good?

The "attached" isnt showing.

UK shouldnt be a problem. Do you play at different times during the day or more in the evenings local time? If it is the evening there then you could be finding and connecting to US based servers which could be increasing the lag.

1000w should be more than ample. What make of video card and how many power connectors are used on it?

I really dont think the matchmaking system is to blame with the exception of what I mentioned above.
