please help me multiplayer problems

ok so my dsl signal is running at 2.9 mbps and the ps3 confirms that. But when I go online on black ops to the options menu and press select it says my bandwidth is between 420 and 424 kbps. the online will not connect unless i go to killstreaks and wait like 2 or 3 minutes for it to load then go to play multiplayer. then it has a hard time connecting to matches. and disconnects from server a lot and takes enters into new games about a minute and a half late. ive done all port forwarding and then tried dmz mode, then tried turning off spi on the router and I cant figure it out. Please help me.

Also the sniper riffel scopes have no crosshairs.

Okay, I want to make one thing clear: The speed of your broadband doesn't matter...

However, the packet size you should have for your downstream is 2.0 [there's a but on that one], and a .30 upstream - constantly.

Let's say that you're on console - Xbox 360 or PS3 - you go online: All good. Except when you pop in Black Ops - Your connection is 2.9, considering that you need an adequate, and steady 2.0 connection, and an .30 upstream to boot. You need to keep in mind that you're on the XBL or PSN online service while you're playing Black Ops.

You see, your console is trying to connect to two services at once: Online Service and Black Ops. Your connection isn't sending enough feedback to keep your game on "grade A" level. There's a lot of memory in COD games, especially during multiplayer. So, ask your ISP to crank your connection to at least 3.5. It's better if you put it at 4.0 or above.

Why? Because put it this way, suppose you're pregnant - You're not just eating for yourself, you're eating for your kid, too. With this in mind; my point here is that you're feeding memory to the server, and to the people that you play online with.

The other thing I would suggest is keeping your router or wireless bridge close to your console for better connection.

ok, so the dsl was not the problem. it was the game itself. I guess there is a such thing as a bad disk. Switched it at gamestop and now everything is perfect. Thank you for all the information.
