I have been a fan of call of duty since 2009. I had originally been introduced to it in the end of 2008 right before World at War came out and had enjoyed playing it but wasn't able to seriously play until I received a PS3 for Christmas in 2008. Shortly after, I bought the newest game (World at War) and had fell in love and achieved 10th prestige rather quickly. I continued playing and by the next November I had over 30 days of playing time and was an avid player. I bought Modern Warfare the Saturday after it was released and my addiction grew worse. At this time I was only 12 and I had made lots of friends my age over PS3 and we all were addicts and had a clan and played every night and had a blast. I then started to find friends around school and in person that played and it made it even more fun. We often had more then 6 players in a party and either had to play ground war or even private matches to allow everyone to play. I can honestly say I don't think I went an entire day that year where I wasn't on for at least an hour. By the time the next November came I had over 80 days played and that wasn't even counting offline play. Right before Black Ops came out I decided to switch to Xbox 360 to play with in life friends and join their clan. Playing on xbox seemed a lot more competitive and made me like it even more, I quickly got used to the new system and pre-ordered Black Ops. When Black Ops came out I put in over 2 days playing time within a week or two and didn't slow down at all until after 15th prestige. At this time I was starting high school and had to slow down a little but I was still playing at least 20 hours a week. Everything was great and all of my friends played and I was seriously addicted. When MW3 came out, things changed. Rather than loving it like I did MW2, it really disappointed me. They had made some changes and it was not quite as good but still enjoyable yet boring. Less and less of my friends played because of this reason and this caused me to play less. Throughout the entire year I only did 6 prestiges and only had around 7 days played. Hoping things would change, I pre-ordered Black Ops II and encouraged my friends to play again. It was alright at first but a few weeks in my friends and I all realized it had changed more, and for the worst. I would only play once or twice a week at this point and decided to sell my xbox. At this point it was only January and I had nothing to do with Call of Duty for nearly 10 months. Seeing the new consoles got my friends and I excited so we all bought a PS4 release night and also bought ghosts. We played often but all ended up selling it just a few weeks later because things had again changed and it seemed it would never be like World at War, MW2, or Black Ops again. I then took another break for about a year until a few weeks ago when I missed playing and bought an xbox one with advanced warfare. Being at the end of senior year, I bought one and plan to play more once college comes. I have friends who play but no one is too serious about the game. I think the game has some positive things and is better than the last 3 but is still very far from the games we had loved. The problem is that they feel like everything needs to get more and more complicated. World at War, MW2, and Black Ops seemed simple but they have added lots of things that have complicated it. First off, why has the score from search changed? There is no reason you should get less points for a kill then you do in TDM. It doesn't necessarily have to be 500 points again but at least 300. Also, why can we jump and fly around like halo? This is very unrealistic and almost everyone jumps and won't just have a brief gun fight. The maps are horrible, they all seem the same and have nothing that gives them character.. Leveling is stupid, double xp is given way too often in supply drops, and the kill streaks are also bad. I feel as if I have became hopeless with Call of Duty.. I understand slight changes should be made every year but EVERYONE loved Modern Warfare and they have changed a ton since then. Why can't we get rid of all this extra garbage and make it simple again?
