Promod help?

Thisll be a long post, please bear with me. I just got some .cfgs files and they look so sexy. Can i use them in mutliplayer or can i only see them after i use the devmap command? And also, i took some demos of promod. I have cod4player but if i launch cod4player and select a demo, with i have the option to use the cfg with the demo? Or do i have to launch devmap, the type demo "demoname"? I need help o.o
