Should I have reported this guy

I was playing this evening and just a few seconds in during a particular round I heard a guy shout obscenities into his mic. Nothing really offensive but nothing I'd want my kids to hear either.

This continued a couple of times and then just as I was about to mute all the players I heard him shout some really racist remarks.

I muted him and ask other players, but then instantly thought I should have reported the guy.

What's your take on this?

I've never reported a player on any game before, and from what I hear about reporting cheats to Activision, I might as well have written a note, put it in a bottle and tossed it to sea.

I would. Especially if it offended you. Sometimes I just brush feelings off to the side, but I cannot respect someone being racist. I don't care what happened or why.

It was really nasty what he said, I don't take offence easily, but there were 2 very strong words that are just off the scale for acceptability and he used both.

do what you think is right, theres alot of imaturity with the young folks these days in gaming.

Its easy behind the screen, but face too face they purrr like kitten. It make me sick

I think I will report the next player that says something that offensive if it happens again, my usual go to response is just but tab and mute all the players with mics connected.
