Worst game of the series?

I think it might be. Seriously the game was just kind of all over the place. Let me give you a run down. The game starts. Then there is a cut scene. Then you are running. Then you are shooting. NOW you gotta do a jump in a car. Then it's snowing. now there is a nuclear war head. BOOM. then game is over.

I mean come on.... I want more to a game not just a rehashed roller coaster. Seriously they are making it all from an equation.
WAR + cut scene + car level + shoot the bad guys + never die cause you can just run and hide and your life meter increased magically = ALL COD GAMES

The multilayer is just Counter-strike on wheels. By wheels I mean console. Really though gun game is just a copy of counter-strike's gun game.

COD is for newbs get a real FPS

There's no doubt in my mind that Black Ops 2 is the worst of the series. I feel like they ran out of ideas starting with Modern Warfare 3 but Black Ops 2 is on a whole other level. Not only was the gameplay extremely repetitive but it was almost stupid with how futuristic they tried to make it. I didn't enjoy the game at all and sold my copy within two weeks of it's release. I probably won't be buying any new Call of Duty games unless the developers can prove that they have something actually worth my while.

Unfortunately, CoD games have lost ideas of where to go with the series. That does not mean they will not continue to sell. But how many different war scenarios can you have, without touching the sensitive area of current wars? The started going downhill I while ago, but I still play from time to time, to fill my "I wanna shoot stuff, and the gun range is closed" mood lol!

In terms of single player I'd have to go with black ops 2. I don't really like the somewhat futuristic warfare that has become of it. I'd much rather see some more classic wars, such as world war 2. I really hope if they continue the franchise, which I have no doubt they will, that they go back to a few old wars.

Haha, every current Call of Duty is the "worst Call of Duty" ever. Honestly man, from your post, it seems like you simply dislike the series in general and not just Black Ops II. Complaining about long standing game mechanics is redundant. If you didn't want to play football, why'd you get Madden? If you didn't want arcade style run and gun, why'd you get Call of Duty?

Now calling it the worst is harsh. I personally like it, but it isn't my favorite. The first black ops was better, or at least it was bringing a lot of new material to the first person shooter. This one feels like it was a copy and paste with new maps. Not the worst thing ever, but I expected more.

Yeah, worst is a pretty strong label. It has it's moments, it has it's downsides. Just like any of the games. The plot was a bit...how should I say it...forced? Going through the motions?

I didn't really like Black Ops 2, but it wasn't the worst in the series per se. It had its moments, but it definitely not the worst. Call of Duty fills a niche that Battlefield or Planetside can't fill. Also off topic, why did you sign up to a CoD forum if you don't like the series? I mean it's good to have differing opinions, but..

I wouldn't claim that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 was the worst game of the series, as it wasn't all too bad. The production team quite unmistakably looked to switch up the theme of the storyline to fit in with a futuristic vibe, and maybe they hadn't quite pulled that off, however that's a big statement calling it the worst.

I have no doubt that Black Ops 2 single player is probably the worst in the Call of Duty series. I personally said it would be considering the game is taking place not on in the past but the future which just shows me that the Call of Duty developers are running out of ideas. If you are thinking about Black Ops 2 being the worst of the series based on its multiplayer then that is incorrect. One good thing that Black Ops 2 does well is have a good multiplayer. One of the best in the series when it is actually working and not being plagued with dashboarding, server issues and lag compensations.

In my opinion black ops 2 is the worst of the call of duty series. Already its nearly been half a year since its been out and only 1 dlc has been released. They are patching/nerfing guns that dont need to be also explosives, also you can hardly knife in that game and they do everything what the famous youtubers say thats why its been made so bad.

Sure the campaign was bad, but the multiplayer didn't feel that fatigued. To be honest, the campaign in any Call of Duty game past Black Ops 1 is going to be very bad because the focus is no longer singleplayer.

I wouldn't call it the worst in the series, but it can feel like it's just the same game as Black Ops. I still found the plot compelling and interesting, it got me going on just to see how everything would turn out. I agree with Khronic, from now on the focus will be multiplayer, and hopefully they mix it with the singleplayer in a refreshing way.

In my eyes, Black Ops 2 was the worst in the series. I really enjoyed the multiplayer ALOT.. For about a week. And from then I just found myself getting bored of the game. However, it may not necessarily be a bad game, but having played all the previous COD's from COD4 I just found myself getting bored of the repetitive gameplay.

Like I said, I did really enjoy the multiplayer but I found nothing really.... "refreshing". I hope the next COD brings something drastically new to the game.

Even though I didn't play the first 3 COD, from my experience the campaign in this one was kind of inconsistent. As the story progressed I was like how did I end up here. It jumped around way too much and I was still unsure of the relationship between Woods and Raul towards the end. I prefer to play games that tell a compelling story so when it is complete I feel as though I have actually accomplished something. I think MW1 or 2 I cant remember which had the best ending out of the games I have played.

I think i would choose World at War.

The multiplayer mode sucked, there was literally nothing going on in the game. No type of action at all.

I would pick any of the first 2. I kinda didn't like WaW, but it's okay. I've played CoD2, and I thought it was pretty bad. However, CoD 3 was really fun in my opinion.

I would definitely pick this as the worst of the series in some ways and best in others.

The maps in BLOPS2 sucks. They suck so bad it hurts. Think about it. Every single stock map (And even the ones in the Revolution) consists of three things. A left side, a right side, and a middle. That's it. Think about the other Call of Duties, there were so many buildings to hide in usually, different dips and paths you could take, certainly more things for you to climb on, and way more camping spots. With those camping spots came great ways to counter-camp or take those campers down from behind. But really, all of the maps are so linear it's terrible. It's too easy to trap a team down in their spawn in any game mode that isn't Team Deathmatch it's unfair.

On the flip-side, BLOPS2 has some of the most fun and rewarding scorestreaks I've seen in a Call of Duty game to date. I also like their new way of scoring scorestreaks. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I love it. I was getting sick and tired of calling in UAVs and not actually getting anything in return. Even though +10 points per UAV assist, that can add up to an entire kill by the time the UAV gets shot down or runs out of time. I hate the idea of those "support killstreaks" in ModWare3 where even if you suck you can call in things that can kill people. Stealth bombers, juggernauts, etc. --- It was all so ridiculous. "Support" should literally be just that. Things like those vests and UAVs and Counter-UAVs and things like that. But even then there was no reward to calling them in.

One more note: the class system in BLOPS2 is the best, in my opinion. It's got way more customization than any other Call of Duty so far.

This was the worst series and I am very sad to say that. This series went down the tubes with this one when it shouldn't. I think most companies now thing that if you throw in better graphics and good cut scenes. That the game will turn out to be a success and players will love. They seem to forget that it all boils down to the plot and game play.

Can't believe people actually think Black Ops 2 is the worst. I thought that for the first 2 months, but as I changed my playing style and the weapons I use, it got more fun. Also, the party games are extremely fun.
