Now it's official, no dedicated servers for the PC, even though they promised them. That's an absolute no buy for me, can't believe they'd release a PC game in this state.

That's kind of sad but I guess it really is to be expected. Man how can they get away with this in 2014, that's insane. You can expect that from any game that is going to be on more then xbox/pc platform. Activision is not going to pay for both companies service. They are company that stays away from any spending that they won't get back.
I guess to each their own, but aiming with a controller for me is so bad I can't do anything, with a mouse and keyboard I can play just much better because how a mouse is so much more precise in shooters.I never expected them to deliver on their promise ion the first place. I have brought it for PS4 anyway. No buy on PC for me. COD is something I can play much better on a console.
Unfortunately most gamers aren't enthusiasts and don't care that much so they go for consoles (it's more convenient for them and has more marketing) so devs end up working for where the majority are. But there's always great PC focused devs like CD Projekt Red.This is unacceptable. I really don't see how Activision can THINK of selling this on Steam, especially when we are more pretentious than the rest, as we've been spoiled by the multitude of other shooters. I am starting to hate this "develop for console>>>port to pc" way, but it's been this way for a while, so I don't see this "trend" going away.
Not at all. I don't think you know what you're talking about. it's very easy to host and let players host their own servers. There is almost no downsides to hosting servers compared to just not hosting them and dealing with horrible p2p.Dedicated servers have their plus sides, but they also have downsides. And the biggest one is , they'd never have enough. Throwing cost aside it would take a few large armies for upkeep. I think the masses just don't do their research. They see "derka derka dedicated server" and so they in turn say "derka derka dedicated server" , without really understanding what that means.
