This is the one Call of Duty game I never played due to console exclusivity. Should I try it?

Given that I have always been a PC player, except for handhelds, would you recommend this game to me? I would now be able to play this using a Playstation 2 emulator. How long is the game? I own a 360 controller, and I have experienced with aim assist on some PC ports, so aiming wouldn't be too much of a problem. Also, is it hard to complete on veteran?
